Asking "And Then" Leads to New Creative Beginnings

And then…”

Such wonderful words as if to say, “But wait, there’s more.”

Another layer, an unexpected turn, a poignant punchline. “And then…” conveys forward motion, evolution, and infinite expansion–a concept essential to humanity on our one planet that rotates, or moves, forward.

An “and then” recently revealed itself through an old book idea I pitched a few years back. The proposal was about the spiritual revolution at hand. I described how outdated structures and systems, built over hundreds of years on unstable foundations of one-sided masculine energy, would naturally crumble and self-destruct, so that an awakened society could rebuild from the grassroots. People connected to their inner divinity, empowered with divine wisdom and truth. Spiritually sovereign, receiving answers and guidance from within, to create new art, beauty, solutions, and ways to care for ourselves and one another.

In this revolution, there’d be no one leader, messiah, or politician coming to save us. Instead, millions of people, en masse, would follow their hearts—with a focus on collective joy—to usher boundless kindness and compassion into the world. Rebuilding, resetting, and recreating from the ground up.

And then the aha! landed: What if this spiritual revolution was really a creative revolution? After all, each of us is a spark of the One Creator. When inspiration flows from that place of connection, brilliance enters the world through us and all that we’re creating.

Just imagine millions of creators flowing from a state of joy and higher awareness. A creative revolution in the face of unbridled AI, rights rollbacks, the chaos of a self-destructing patriarchy, and capitalism. Where brutality, coercion, and hatred are wielded to wear us out and lead us to a sense of helplessness and despair.

Instead, we can opt for another way forward. We lean in and become creative warriors.

Just look at Minnesota this past winter and the brutal ICE occupation that spurred collective action and community creativity. Hundreds of thousands of people contributed solutions, networks, technologies, protests, and music, in ways both small and large, to protect their neighbors. To engage, to do what they could.

Food delivery networks, donations of time, energy, and money, walking neighbors to school, witnessing, chronicling, coming out into the frigid air in droves. Creativity in the face of brutality birthed apps, kitchen-table networks, signs, and sing-ins. Stories of a whole new scale and proportion of human goodness. Countless individual acts rose above fear and resisted—the fear wasn’t gone; it just wasn’t going to interrupt community care and inspired action.

The “and then’s” are nothing short of divine, rippling across a community, nation, and world into infinity. This creative revolution differs from before. The matriarchy is moving in!

The feminine is the creation that happens in the void, the dark space, the womb. And the creative revolution depends on it. Masculine and feminine, sun and moon, light and darkness, action and intuition. People embracing and activating their feminine energies. Feeling deeply. Striving for balance. Connected to their emotions, kindness, and community, collaborating to build a new world.

Creativity is the key to humanity’s future. It invites the infinite creator into solutions for the planet and then empowers us to bring them into our reality.

It’s time to get going. The world needs love, ideas, solutions, beauty, and compassion now.

It starts with a spark, a curiosity, a calling. And then, one little action on it that feels really good. And then another, following the breadcrumbs and witnessing the magic it sparks. Miracles and serendipity abound when you’re empowered by love, bringing more of it into the world in service to the love of yourself, your neighbors, and this one magnificent planet.
